Fashion Fridays - 50 Years Golden

We have been invited to a party this Saturday to celebrate 50 years of marriage that is K&S.  Isn't that amazing.

Mr P and I have been together for coming up to 18 years now and we are fast approaching our own milestone of 10 years married.  I have absolute faith that health being on our side we will get the opportunity to celebrate many more milestone anniversaries to come.  If we reach 50 years together then I will be a very happy and proud lady, I feel quite emotional now thinking about it (imagining how old we will be!)

This weeks fashion friday - 50 years golden, what to wear?

Sale Dress H&M £15
I fell in love with the low back and zip detailing - perfect for showing off the remaining tan!
Love TK Maxx - Carvela Gold Pumps £60/£19.99 - Bargain
Complimentary nails - I have the perfect jewels to match.

What are you wearing this weekend?

Nice to see you again.

Photo Challenge - 7 Days of Sunshine

Well that was one of the most relaxing holidays I think I have ever had and to think we managed this with a 3 year old in tow.

Can I just say that our daughter is possibly the most well behaved, happy and contented little poppet and we are both soooooo proud.

Well as I promised I will not punish you with all 345 photo's taken within the week, but instead I set myself the Photo Challenge - 7 Days of Sunshine.  I have to admit the challenge was much harder than I thought.

Here are my final Photo Challenge - 7 Days of Sunshine.

Photo Challenge - 7 Days of Sunshine

While I'm not quite willing to share my entire collection of holiday snaps (or that you would want me to) but as I have blogged during every stage of preparation, it seems silly not to share something after the event.

I follow a number of fantastic bloggers who continue to inspire me to become a better blogger.

I love to look at the varying Photo challenges that take place, my week in photos, a photo a day for June, 365 days!!! I am not an expert photographer by anyone's standards but I am learning and I am definately beginning to recognise a good photo when I see one.

So I have set myself the challenge of taking a photo a day which reflects each day of our 7 days of sunshine.

P.s I'm writing this at 4:30 in the morning as I can't sleep with anticipation and a head full of 'things to be done' before we fly. But also because I have just heard the best news. Welcome to the world Little Miss C.

Nice to see you again.

Luscious Lanzagrote!

Well those 6 days went quick!  With one more sleep I think we are almost there.  'Panic Packing' is over and the suitcases are almost at a close.  All that is left to do now is paint the nails and charge the camera.

We have booked a very Last Minute holiday to the Canary Island, Lanzarote and the 3 Little Pigs can not wait.

Luscious Lanzagrote and I go a long way back.  Our relationship began in 1983.  I can vividly see myself sitting on the patio of E8 Las Tabaybas reading Smash Hits.

Since 1983, many family holidays followed as we were lucky enough that my extremely generous grandparents owned an apartment on this private complex.  Once 17 came I had the pleasure of inviting a dear friend of mine at the time (much fun had in the local bars with too many Pina Colada's), then 18 when my grandfather reluctantly let me take three girlfriends on our first independent tour (less said about the 'foam parties' the better).  Then soon after that came Mr P, with his fair complex and strawberry blond hair, we shared holidays with the family, with another couple and on our own.  I have so many fond memories of the island and now to think we are going back so many years later as a family ourselves, fills me with nostalgic joy.  I just hope it lives up to those fond memories.

So all thats left to go is to dry the nails, check the passports, tickets and oh perhaps just one last look in the suitcase!

Luscious Lanzagrote here we come - again!

This time 3 Little Pigs.

Nice to see you again.

Fashion Friday - Panic Packing

Well what a day!

I rushed over to Chichester this morning to get Poppy some 'holiday sandals'.  Wow wonderful Joules, they are uber cute, pink and she loves them!  I also had a few errands to run for Mr P (who never panic's with packing), he gave me a list which included flip flops and swimming shorts (not too short, not too long, not speedos and definitely not like your dad would wear).  I successfully completed the mission.

Of course though, as you may have guessed this trip was not just for Little Miss P and Mr P, I may have had a small intention of grabbing a few last minute bits myself.  I managed a pair of sandals and a maxi skirt.  So pleased with myself.  Finalised with a spontaneous trip into 'Poundland' for some novel entertaining toys for the plane journey.

Then onto a meeting for work, not ideal for a Friday afternoon, but very interesting nonetheless.

Straight after that, rushed to the beautifully blooming Mrs C baby shower, only to find out her waters had broke the previous evening.  Thankfully she is very well, and amazingly managed to enjoy the whole afternoon.  Well done Z for organising and entertaining.  I'm so excited for Little Miss C's arrival, she will have the most perfect parents.  I hope she has it before we go (for her sake obviously).

So then home to a lovely dinner cooked by Mr P.

After dinner we ventured upstairs to sort out all our clothes ready for packing.  Immediately, I could feel it boiling up inside, stomach beginning to tighten, head swell, short breath...PANIC PACKING!

In my head it sounds a little like this:
  • I have no time
  • Where do I start?
  • What to wear?
  • I have no clothes
  • What sandals go with that
  • I have no sandals
  • This belt, bag and shoes match too well
  • Which nail varnish goes with all 7 outfits?
  • I should have gone on a diet
  • Why didn't I make it to the gym tonight?
  • I have no time
Panic packing overwhelms me every time I go far enough away that I can not access my full wardrobe.  Now my sensible head knows that I have a huge selection of clothes and shoes, so why do I NEVER have anything to wear!  I also know that when I am on holiday I will wonder why I put myself under so much pressure.

The pressure is not only now for my own panic packing but also that of my daughter, who now has a brand new wardrobe (including accessories) for the week.  We are so looking forward to taking Little Miss P on holiday, while we have been before she is of the age now where I know she will soak up every second.

Anyway all the selections are made now and I am sticking with them, well at least until tomorrow evening when the final panic packing takes place.

So here are some of my favourite bits that I am 100% sure on.

Doesn't leave me with many clothes!!!

Am I the only person who goes through 'Panic Packing'?

Nice to see you again.

Miserable Monday!

I have very little patience for rain and as a result of the persistent downpours we are experiencing during our first month of summertime, especially today I have labelled today as an extremely Miserable Monday.

After a very wet weekend away for a very wet wedding in Liverpool, on our return, Mr P and I caved in and booked a holiday to the Canary Islands.  We fly out next week!

So when I woke up this morning to the ongoing rain and a flood outside our house I suggested to Little Miss P that there was no other option than - SHOPPING (she agreed - of course).

Here is a little taster of what we got.

Very pleased with the Little Miss P's purchases and she was an angel all morning despite the Miserable Monday and walking in the wet!

Shopping can really take out of a girl!

And the rain continues, so nothing else required other than TV time!

What do you do on a Miserable Monday?

Nice to see you again.

Jubilee Jars - Tutorial

Just in case you are not already in a state of panic preparing last minute decorations for your street party or BBQ, then here is a very simple 5 minute Jubilee tutorial just in time for the celebrations this weekend.

You will need:
A variety of glass jars (different sizes)
A selection of scrap material (Jubilee colours)
Additional accessories (ribbons, trimmings, buttons etc)
Strong adhesive or glue gun
Pinking shears or scissors

 Step 1:
Cut strips of fabric with pinking shears, long enough to wrap around your jar and high enough to cover the main body.

Step 2:
Glue one end of the fabric to the jar, continue to glue as you pull the fabric tight to the jar. Seal until all the fabric is attached.  Leave to dry.

Step 3:
Decorate with trimmings of your choice.  I used garden yarn, buttons and ribbons.

Congratulations - Your Jubilee Jars are complete!

Additional Tips
*Add tea lights for a party that lasts all night long*

*Or use them to display your cutlery*

Yes this tutorial is really as easy as it looks!

Nice to see you again.
